I began collecting classic TV shows in the late 1980s, starting with Twilight Zone and Ben Casey, which were airing on some oddball satellite TV channels. I began to find other collectors, and in 1995 my best friend Greg and I formed e/p Partners, dedicated to getting all the TV (of the sorts we liked) from the 1950s and 1960s. He along with other collector pals were helpful and e/p expanded to include our friends Hank and Devin. Today we have about 40,000 individual episodes from the 1950s and 1960s, and a few into the 1970s. It's the largest private collection we know of. We started on the old VHS tapes and as DVDs came along we spent over 2 years moving all our episodes from tape to DVD.

We Boomers were the first to have television there from our earliest days. In the 3-channel era of the 1950s and 1960s, it was a shared experience across people, and across categories of people. Today television is fragmented into hundreds of channels, and with that the golden and silver ages of TV have faded into history. Around her, though, those days never left.

I am not a big movie fan, but along the way I've picked up, through trades with other collectors, several thousand films. Most of them are in the film noire genre, or the 1930s comedy arena. But there ae lots of other things as well. I still have several thousand movies I've never catelogued.
